Supplier considerations include going all the way back to raw materials coming from nature.<\/p>\n<p>On the customer side of Cradle-to-Grave, a supplier must consider the use, maintenance, and end of life of their product.\u00a0 A supplier must think broadly, both upstream and downstream from their operation, to truly consider a life cycle perspective.<\/p>\n<h2>Many Industries and Companies of All Sizes Include Green Specifications<\/h2>\n<p>Green Specifications typically align with a company&#8217;s sustainability targets, as documented in<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.aftansustainability.com\/blog\/who-controls-your-companys-green-reputation\/\">ESG Statements<\/a><\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>Corporate Sustainability Statements; or<\/li>\n<li>lastly, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aftansustainability.com\/p\/pa-sustainability-consultants.html\"><strong>ISO 14001<\/strong> initiatives<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>However, in smaller companies, these specifications can result from their larger customers&#8217; demands.<\/p>\n<p>Historically, the transportation industry led the way with these specifications to improve gas mileage and reduce emissions. However, today, many more industry sectors like<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>construction;<\/li>\n<li>pharmaceutical;<\/li>\n<li>food and agriculture;<\/li>\n<li>oil and gas; and<\/li>\n<li>lastly, tourism demand greener solutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Whether it&#8217;s the public, the shareholders, or the customers who are driving this transition, companies of all sizes and industries face these new specifications.<\/p>\n<h2>Get Ready to Think Green<\/h2>\n<p>Sharpen your green pencil to stay competitive whether you&#8217;re reacting to your customer&#8217;s demands or you&#8217;re being proactive.
